Washington Township Trustees are receiving bids for mowing Rippey and/or Angus Cemeteries. Please submit bids to: Jean Borgeson, Clerk, 1951 310th St. Rippey, IA, 50235 by March 1, 2022.
The Rippey library is hosting an inaugural poem display through February. There is a framed copy of Amanda Gorman’s poem, “The Hill We Climb,” from President Joe Biden’s inauguration in 2021. She was the youngest inaugural poet. There are also copies of the other poems from the inagurations of John F. Kennedy, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama.
The Rippey Lions Club held their recent meeting with a meal prepared and served by Maralynn Rinker. Later the group reviewed the BRR ride meal and began making plans for next year. Beginning plans for a “Rippey Daze” event for July 30 were discussed. Dale Hanaman presented the program on “The New Foundation: 13th, 14th and 15th Amendments.” The next meeting will begin with a potluck meeting on March 3 at 6 pm at the Rippey United Methodist Church.
